Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

15 year old lesser sulphur crested cockatoo, not my favorite kind of cockatoo, if I had my choice... but she sounds sweet and is in good feather, and I have this HUGE custom made surgical grade stainless steel cage just sitting in my garage....

I will have to get something to set the casters in.... so they dont hurt my new flooring.... but that is it

Oh man, I'm gonna need pictures :pop Cockatoos are something else. My 'dream parrot' is a rose breasted cockatoo.

Yeah, I like those, from what I understand they make good pets.

I had a cockatoo once that I bought as a baby, after a bunch of research I decided that a Bare Eyed cockatoo would be best for me.... she was an awesome bird..... (died in a house fire) bare eyed cockatoos are the best.

But.... Sunshine, sure is cute!

So... once this lady gets set to move, Sunshine will move to my house.

Checking every 3 months, I believe. No maintenance for now; still an option if needed later.
Just stopping the growth is good .Maybe your can do attitude will prove them wrong.

That’s great! You can probably use a little extra sunshine up there at this time of year. She’s very pretty! 😍

House fire??? YIKES!!! Not yours I hope.

She is a gorgeous lady!

Cockatoos stole my heart a long time ago. In Pigeon Forge TN there's a place called Parrot Mountain. You can interact with all kinds of parrots. It was the cockatoos that were my favorite. One in particular, a Moluccan named Peaches, totally won me over. She was super sweet and happy to ride around on my shoulder. The staff there told me that if she liked you, she would 'dance' on your shoulder. Sure enough, she started dancing for me.

But, the big guys aren't for everyone; they are so intelligent and so social, you basically have to be home with one all the time or able to take them everywhere with you to make it work. So I knew I'd want a smaller one. I ended up settling on the Galahs.

For now though I just content myself with the tiniest of the 'toos - my little 'tiels.

My dad was a machinist had big callused hands when He and mom went to Busch gardens... There were Parrots in a courtyard... ONe had a big sign that said dont offer a hand He bites.

Well of course dad offered his and and the parrot promptly bit him... a love bite because it didnt break the skin. Dad just grinned.... and the Parrot Said "OW"

I have no idea what type of parrot it was... Just one of dads stories.
