I got full refunds for everything, except airlines. One went bankrupt, so that money is gone... one other ticket couldn't be refunded, and the rest of the airline tickets became vouchers.

I was thinking of not going anywhere... but my mom REALLY wants me down for the wedding mid August.

I told her fine... but no way will I bring asthma kid. I will bring myself and the 2 eldest. If she insists I will bring the 2 youngest.

Sooooo what that wedding looking like now? Still bohemian gypsy fantasy themed?

Thank you. This thread came up on my news feed and I read your first post. I know it was long ago but it sounded inviting.
I am fairly new to the world of birds. I had ducks years ago, but I never had chickens before.
We moved here three years ago from PA. (Retirement). We brought three boxer dogs, and three cats along.
Last year we bought this little plot of land and my husband Mike bought some Muscovy ducks for the pond.
This is them today.

I had wanted chickens for years, but I always thought they would be too high maintenance. (And they are but I don’t mind. Lol.)
In May, I was at TSC buying dog and cat food. They had chicks. I was emotionally weak, mind you, after two solid months of sheltering-in-place, so...
Totally irresponsible impulse buy: 4 chicks, bag of chick feed, a lamp, chick feeder and waterer, pine chips.

Two of them (the two on the left) passed away the next day, (and I was devastated), and a week later TSC gave me these (below) as replacements. Did you know they did that?

So, my husband and I commenced to build this.
We’ve named it “The Chicken Lounge”.

Then a guy who lives near us had an ad in Craig’s List, and I went and got these:

Two and a half months later, they are big and strong and we love them all so much.

I know we all do dumb stuff for our mothers, but that’s too much. Can’t you fly her up to your place for the summer again instead of seeing her there? It’s worth a shot.

2 production brown Leghorn, 1 production white Leghorn, and a..... buff sexlink? Or orpington? Or??

Nope, nope, she DOES want to come up here after the wedding.

And eh... I should make it through covid... ditto on my 2 eldest... I think the biggest risk is being stuck there for months... recovering from covid and or not getting a negative test so that I can fly back to Alaska.
