Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I've probably mentioned this here more than once, but you just reminded me that my grandparents kept one clock on standard time & one on daylight savings time. I tell people their house was so big it took an hour to go from one room to another :)
You guys know Lisa’s house is located between time zones. Literally half the house is an hour behind the other half. That’s some seriously crazy stuff!

You name it I have hobbied it I think... The only thing I havent done is Bake much. Cookies and cake occasionally when I was in my twenties. Have made bisquits And Croissants. in that era.

I have sculpted Clay. and made steel sculptures. Worked with lost wax making rings and pendants. Crochet... and needle point. I can do but I have limitations on my attention span.

And of course draw with pen, pencil, crayons even with home made instruments. Worked with leather both construction and decoration.

All of which kept me sane.. um er. helped me cover up my tweaked ness.

Welcome by the way to @Cupcake1243

If one clock is off, by God they all better be off. :old
:lau I feel the same

Pocket watches are sexy! Especially the kind that you can see the gears moving in the back.:love
Yes!

a man with only one watch knows what time it is. but Give him two and hes never sure
:lau again, so true!

Excellent quotes today!

You too @kwhites634 but did they ever get messed up because of it and miss appointments?

My dad's mom kept her clocks on "God's time" and never followed the switching the time back and forth, and now I can't for the life of me remember... is that the time the rest of us use in the summer? Or the winter?

Afternoon, Pond!
I am a little mopey today. I was supposed to be in IA visiting baby grandson, but my plans got changed. I was 2 1/2 hours into my 3 3/4 hour drive there, when my son called. His MIL had been tested for Covid because her Dr. suspected that she might have it. She was visiting Grandson and his parents on Thursday, and started feeling ill on Friday. So, Son told me to turn around and go home. He and DIL went and got tested yesterday afternoon. His MIL turned out negative, but son and DIL haven't gotten their tests back yet. I'll have to video chat with them later today, so I can at least see the kid. Schedules are tight, and at the rate we're going, I won't be able to see him until September sometime. (As early as possible, that's for sure!)

Due to my change of plans, DH and I were able to get some sweet corn picked and frozen yesterday. For a "not very good stand", and "we'll be lucky if we get a few meals out of it", we did pretty good. We've had several meals of it, plus managed to get 65 pints in the freezer. We did 20 pints on Sunday, and the rest yesterday.

Not much else going on around here. I will have 11 fewer chickens by the end of the week. My meaties are ready to go.

Happy Wednesday, Everyone!

I wear mine in the city and not so much up at the house. 60 miles out in the desert nearest neighbor is 20 acres away. No one really "visits" each other. We are all city people who moved out to be away from people.

That area has never been farm country some of the parcels are tens of thousands of acres. We all meet at one time or another in town. Best description of town is only two degrees off from being a ghost town.

There is a Post office, a hotel, a bar, a restaruant, a "grocery" store deli. Lots of artists and recluses.

Used to be a hotspot for the movie stars to come out on the train to spend a wild weekend swimming in the pools. That was Back in the thirties. Back then it was a bustling community. Complete with the Spa and the "thereputic waters" Lots of drinking and debauchery ....

Fire killed the spa. forest fire killed what was left of an ancient Cedar forest and the railroad. Freeway construction killed the rest. Back in the eighties the next town over was for sale... 400K For about thirty buildings and a gas station. and two hundred acres or thereabouts.

So lots of history Starting with the Kumeayay and ending with a smattering of Abandoned and destroyed historical buildings.

My kind of town.
