Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Not to be a total downer, but I’m going to have to put one of my dogs down soon. I know I’ve been building myself up for this all year, but now I think he’s ready.:hit I looked up the place that usually comes out here. Because of covid they are handling all appointments outside only.... Outside... In 102* weather. This dog barely goes outside at all. Lately he’s mostly carried in/out to do his business. He’s not going to be comfortable anywhere out there. How the :duc am I supposed to do this? If she would come in like they used to do, he probably wouldn’t even know she was here. This makes a sucky situation even suckier. 🙁

Oh Roomy. I wish I had words of comfort, but all I can say is I’m here if you need a shoulder to cry on. :hugs

Evening pond.
Our first measurable snow may appear tomorrow. Cold tonight, even for this time of year for us. Had to start the furnace this evening. Mother Nature letting us know we had better get things buttoned up quick this year. Not a huge surprise. Our colors have peaked weeks early and far too quickly for any real show like in years past. Looks like it's going to be a long winter on our end of the pond. Sigh. Oh well, we're pretty much back into lock down anyway. Our luck ran out on dodging the worst of the virus. If you're following the reports you know Wisconsin is a mess. The national news reported today that the hospitals even up in Green Bay are reaching quarantine capacity. The numbers of new cases in our rural areas are climbing like nothing earlier. Guess it doesn't actually matter that the snows may come early, doesn't look like we'll be going anywhere any time soon anyway.
There are a few reasons I'm glad I don't live in WI. The current situation there with the virus is one of them. Hopefully, I left just in time.

Raised the thermostat on the Pond heater.
Thanks, I got a bit chilled today, working in a cold classroom, then standing outside in the cold and wind later on.
My solar panels are up, but the wires aren't connected since the electrician refuses to connect the wires in the rain.
Huh - imagine that...
