Bantam cochins, Seramas, porcelain d'uccles, another pen of d'uccles with multiple color varieties (eventually want all golden neck), bantam white phoenix, golden phoenix, about 40 satinette pigeons, and my call ducks. Back up to 43 call ducks after losing a few to predators, but 3 hens had healthy hatches. One duck hen still on 8 eggs, due soon. Several seramas hatching babies right now too.

I feel so normal now!
A friend was over that other night and was overwhelmed by how many chickens I had... Seriously, 80ish is not all that many, right?

Hope all is well!
I've had Mom here since the 15th of June - she leaves to 20th of this month (oh yeah, happy July everybody!). She has really gone downhill since her last visit (mentally the most - physically a bit) so I can't leave her alone. It's been a bit rough, but we're hanging in.

Yeah, it's been hot here - earlier than normal - but it's pretty standard fare for this time of year.

I’m glad you checked in! I’ve been wondering how things were going, but haven’t had a chance to ask. Right now GS is helping Grandpa fix the lawnmower, so it’s just GD and me in the house. She’s content to play by herself without big brother pestering her so I have a moment.

Hot and humid. Heat I can deal with. Humidity 74 F with a high of 87 predicted, but the humidity is 80%. Something smells bad on my lily pad.

Right?! My customers are always shocked when we step into my yard and they see the setup. I always tell them Chicken Math is absolutely REAL!

Deep pondering thoughts….

Long story short, my family is having an impromptu family reunion in ID in a week or so. Its extremely short notice, will cost me many shiny coins to get there, plus I haven’t been vaccinated. How crazy is it for me to even consider jumping thru hoops to go?

I’ve vacillated back & forth from I can’t go, to maybe I can swing it, to this is ridiculous, I can’t go… It’s making me a little ill.

It’s totally not reasonable & I can’t really leave the animals (especially Meaty) but they will be in DH & kids capable hands & it would only be for a few days. I haven’t seen my family in 3yrs, but again, there is also the problem with that pesky pandemic. I’m not swayed by the ideas of my peers, but for the sake of soundboarding, (WWPD) What Would the Pond Do?

My sisters and I have discussed getting together for one of our birthdays soon (I think our last big get-together was my 50th), besides funerals. But I'm so annoyed with 2 of them right now, I don't even want to see them in person. I wish we had done it before I couldn't stand to be around them. lol

(WWPD) What Would the Pond Do?

If it were my kids and grandkids, I would go. For the rest of my scattered family - there's no incentive for me to go. Many are Hoax Believers/covid doubters, and I don't need to be in their company. That's just my situation, and the Princess and I are vaccinated.
