Good Evening, Pond!
After plenty of caffeine, I did perk up a bit today, but it didn’t last long. I’m done for the day!

I decided to give Broody Betty a half dozen eggs today, just for fun. When I went in to the coop, I noticed that she had a roommate in the maternity ward. I figured out that that one wanted to join the Broody Club when she attempted to amputate my hand when I reached under her to check for eggs. She got the other 5 eggs that DH had collected today. My feeling is, they’ll hatch or they won’t, whatever. If we get a few more chicks, great! If not, meh, at least we tried.

It’s hard to see much of Betty as she’s a black chicken in a dark nest, but if you zoom in, you can really see her stink-eye! I don’t know why, but it always makes me laugh.

Good morning Pond was gone yesterday first time shopping since covid. Fire started about 40 miles up the road.

So, I don't know if anyone here feeds Nutrena at all, but they're rolling out a rewards program for those who use their feed and pet foods. You sign up and then scan your receipts with Nutrena purchases to earn rewards points. They just gave out the info at my work.

Kay came in to town this weekend. She brought much cooler temperatures & the glorious gift of rain. While she was here she broke my fence & all my dollar store windspinners. Then she totally decimated my neighbors fabric gazebo & took out another neighbors tree (which took out said neighbors car.) All & all, not too bad for a rowdy Friday night in the suburbs.

The chickens/ducks have been sequestered in their runs & are none too pleased. They say she won’t be invited back.
