My chickens used to have a barn stall as a coop. It was roomy and easy to clean, but there was one downside: The chickens could fly out and have full access to the rest of the barn. They of course, took advantage of this. One chicken took it upon herself to find the strangest places to lay- aka anywhere in the barn EXCEPT the nest boxes. What places did she choose? The trash can, a pile of bricks in a corner (which I did not find for months) a jet ski, And a wheel barrow full of compost. I’m sure she thought it was the funniest thing watching me search for her eggs every day.
