Well i started my coop

my siding will be 1 x 6 rough cut pine. im suppose to get it wednesday evening. i put the roof on today. tomorrow ill build the door and maybe go get sand for the run

That is what I use rough cut, I normally use 1X10 and then add Battens.

i did some staining today. i put the roof on yesturday and today i build the door

the door is almost done, just need to add some trim boards to hide the edges of hardware cloth and stain the door

ill most likely get the sand tomorrow. im suppose to get my siding today so ill be busy working on the walls of the coop

I'm getting ready to get our coop constructed. Did you put electric fencing around the bottom?

i wanted some 1x10 but the sawmill only has 1x6.

no, i did bury 2x4 wire just under the cinder blocks. all the way around and it sticks out about 16 inches. in the future if i have problems with critters ill get an electric fence

1X6 is fine depending on the look you want, My Buddy owns a decent size saw mill up the road from me, I get all of my Lumber from him, He does framing lumber as well. 1X10 is the most popular around here and is always in stock. How are you running the boards? Are you going to use battens?
