We have large fish kills here in Puget Sound occasionally. Mostly in Hood Canal. It get blamed on poor oxygen content d/t poor currents.

I read years ago that the air above Mexico City was so polluted decades ago that birds would die if they flew over the city. And fall out of the sky, but not flocks at a time.

Maybe those birds were all depressed and suicidal?
Or ... as once happened on my neighbors' farm, ...
his horse was out in the pasture next to the corn field,
and it got so hot outside that all the corn started to pop.
When the horse saw all that popcorn laying on the ground
it thought it was snowing and it froze to death.
Hmmmm that don't make no sense at all.
