Welsummer... Hen? Rooster? Fake rooster? 🤣

I got my 2 welsummers as chicks from rural king... they are out of a pullet bin and up until now they have both looked like pullets... now one of my "girls" is getting black feathers all over "her" chest.... is she now a he? I don't care if she is I just want to know.... they are 4 months old now (hatched sometime around June 8th). The other girl has a solid red chest still but so did this boy/girl until now... Is it a hen that is just trying to trick me or what? Anyways... yeah help! Thanks. First 7 pictures are the one that is getting black feathers like a roo and the rest are the one that looks female.

The top one is very likely a cockerel. The bottom one is a pullet.

I think you have a pullet with some weird feathering similar to how sometimes Salmon Faverolles hens sometimes get rooster-like black chests

Hmm... so no ideas as to what may have caused the black feathering? She looked just like her sister before... do y'all think the sister will get the black feathering as well? I'll post updates as she grows.

Nah, I do not think her sister will. Probably just a hatchery fault. Hatcheries breed for quantity not quality.
