I finally reached in and grabbed my little one out (she hatched almost 24 hours ago) and set her up in the brooder. She's black, with red stripes over and below her eyes and a reddish/cream belly. Her legs are slate with light feathering and 5 toes on each foot (no idea what she could be...?). I'm hoping some of these others hatch soon, so that she won't be so lonely. She was 'screaming' a few minutes ago, so I started singing to her and she fell asleep!

Once they have pipped how long does it normally take to come completely out?

Mine were pipping yesterday morning and didn't hatch until this morning, so it can take a while.

Still waiting on chicks 5, 6 and 7. Eggs still rocking but not a lot of progress yet.

Ok, thanks everyone!! I am so excited now.

I am constantly staring at the eggs!!!!

They pipped while i was gone to get treats from the bait store for my big chickens! So between 8:30 and 9:30.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL! Good to read that lux finally got some action!!!

I have 6 silkies in the brooder and 3 eggs with no pips

in the incubator. I know they all had chicks in them, i candled the day i went on lock down. I wonder if the 110 temp spike messed them up...it was only a couple of minutes...who knows. I am going to let them set til tomorrow to make sure that nothing is going to happen...
