Thanks! I was in the process og getting a picture of my first pip... And a second one pipped right in front of me!
I got pics of both but my computer froze and I had to run to the store... I'm in a huge line right now but if I ever get home ill update you guys again!
They are still trying to get their legs and balance figured out and bouncing all the other eggs around in the process. Looks like 4 of the 5 others are pipped and I think are still alive. The 5th one I'm not sure about, can't get a good look at it.
Anyone know how long it takes for them to dry out and fluff up?
i've heard that it takes a couple hours or so... depending on your humidity... i want to take them out and dry them off with a towel so i can hold them!!!
i know i know i won't but when i pop my head over them they start peeping and jumping... i'm thinking the eggs closest to the side i appear at are going to have a hard time of it all...
maybe i should try to do a little yard work to distract myself......
Mariposa Mama your chicks look so cute! i had to remember that mine had the possibility of vaulted skulls. When they first popped out i was like what is wrong with their heads?! lol
Congrats to everyone!! See, Lux? Told you they'd be fine
My other 4 still aren't doing anything, so now it's wait and see. I feel bad for the one baby in there all alone; it's dry now and looks up at me whenever I peek in and talk to it...poor baby. I'll give it 'til tomorrow, then I have to take that one out and feed it, but I'm hoping I have more hatched by then
My Dom eggs just came in the mail, so I need one of my 'bators in the next day or two, as well!
Number 4 just popped out. Another black one, so it's 2 yellowish/reddish and 2 black so far. Still waiting on 5, 6 and 7 to make their appearance, but I'm pretty sure they're all still alive. Looks like another day I won't get anything done I'm supposed to.
