Okay, so I lied....I was gonna go to bed, until I decided to check the bator.....and I discovered something MUCH better than candling!!!!! Can you guess what it is???? It's not anything DIRECTLY related to a hatch, but it's STILL VERY exciting!!!

Guessing???

Anyone got it right yet???

How about now????

Okay, I'll tell you....

I have MISSOURI JUMPING POULTRY FRUIT!!!!!

You know, instead of Mexican jumping beans???

I know, I crack myself up....LOL!!! YES, I was staring hopefully into my bator, praying that the good Lord would make TODAY hatch day, and instead I caught a glimpse of a moving egg....I stared a bit more (okay, a long time more) and sure enough....MY EGGS ARE MOVING AND JUMPING AND ROLLING!!! And the best part is that BOTH of the little banty eggs I was worried about are moving too!!! I don't know if they'll last another three days, but I'm still prayin' for their little butts!!!

So when to raise the humidity??? I thought it was on day 18, but I saw a post where someone said to raise it on day 19, 20, and 21....meaning I'd have to wait till WWWWAAAAAYYYYY later, till the end of day 18....like another 24 hours almost EXACTLY, and I don't know how long I'll last!!!

So can anyone tell that this is really my first hatch??? The guys at work laugh at me, but I tell them I'm no where near as bad as a whole forum full of hatchaholics!!!!

Haha that is good news! I remember seeing my first moving egg and I was just as excited!! Thank god DH was working 2nd shift and I was used to being up late so I could watch the miracle hatch!! It should be anytime for your little ones to make their appearance!!

hey, quick question....will paper towels interfere with the humidity??? I have more eggs cooking that won't be hatching for a while, and I won't be able to clean the bator out (take it apart and clean it, anyway) so I'd like to use paper towels under the eggs....is this okay??? And do you know if I need to raise the humidity at the start of day 18 or the start of day 19???

I raise it day 18 and use shelf liner under my eggs. I haven't seen anything unusual with the humidity but then again my bator is homemade and very large. It also has louvers in the back that can be adjusted for temps and humidity. Sorry, guess I'm not a big help

Mine is homemade, too....I just don't want to do ANYTHING at this point without checking first....okay, now I really am going to bed....I swear! Thanks for replying!!!

Most shelf liner is too slick for babies to get a grip on. You don't need to do do anything exept keep the eggs sprayed with warm water after they start pipping.
