We're all hatchin'! Congrats, everyone!

From what I've read and been told, the humidity is going to need to be increased to 65-70% on day 18, so I wouldn't think 61% would hurt them today. Someone else may have more info, though.

My eggs were moving a bit after I turned them earlier. I'm stopping at Walmart on the way home from the new house this evening to grab a couple clean sponges and some airline tubing to make adding water easier, since I can't open the 'bator after tomorrow. It's almost time!!

I haven't had to use plugs.....I actually added more holes to see if that would fix the humidity problem....It's not too terribly high, and today is day 18 anyways....I'm gonna up it to 65-75% later tonight....

yay!!!!

I just put my incubator on lockdown. I set me eggs in the evening the night before the 1st, so this is the start of my day 18!! I put in a shelf liner for them to walk on when they hatch, and added a straw to add water!

I gave everyone one last candle and found yet another to cull. bloodring, no development

One however.... I could see moving inside!!!

After the one I culled there was an axtra egg carton in there with only 1 egg left, (I have my egg cartons cut into sections of 4) and I wanted to make more space, so I took that carton out and just leaned the egg I saw movement in standing up between the last two remaining cartons. I figured this would be ok cause this guy seems to be hatching first... I'm so excited!!

I only have 9 eggs left out of 15 by the way

I put mine in the evening before the 1st, too, so should I consider this the start of day 18 and go on lockdown? I was going to wait until tomorrow evening, which I guess would be the end of day 18. I so want to do things right and have these little ones hatch. They are the first of my own chickens and I can't wait to see what mix we get.
