We're all hatchin'! Congrats, everyone!

I don't know why I didn't find this thread sooner, but I am on day 17 today too!!! It's my first time and I have a homemade incubator, which gave me lots of temp spikes in the beginning.... but so far out of 14 eggs, I've only had to throw out 4, two infertile, 2 bloodrings, the rest showed signs of development!!!

Yesterday was day 18 for me, and of course I had to take a quick look at everyone before lockdown. (at least I thought it was lockdown. Long story, different post.)

3 had internally pipped (BBS Rocks from Halo) and a couple of others were working on it! One was already working on pipping the shell.

It is the morning of day 17 for me, too. At last check last night, I still have 7 eggs full of chick and 1 I think is bad but can't swear to. I am going to have the hardest time not touching the eggs for 3 days when I go on lockdown tomorrow night.

I was going to say I hadn't seen any of the eggs move while sitting in the bator, but thought I'd look in first and what do I see? One of the eggs just noticeably rocked while I was looking.

I might actually get something to hatch this time. Oh, how on earth am I going to go off to work and not be able to watch them all day?

Good luck everybody, these next few days are going to be hard on all of us I'm sure.

At least you have work to go to, to distract yourself! I'm a stay at home mom, I'm just gonna be pacing back and forth the locked down bator for days! I have 10 eggs left, 6 definitely full of baby chick, the other 4 have shells too thick to see through, I haven't been able to candle them from day 1

Since seeing the first egg rock and have been going back and forth from here to the bator and I have now seen # 2 and #3 move. I can't stand it, I tell you. I wish I could call in sick to work and watch the bator all day, but since my boss is on vacation I have to be there.

This is going to be the longest 3 days of my life, I swear.

ETA #4 Just moved!! That's 4 out of 7 I've seen rock just this morning. I'm ecstatic, I can't stand it!

I just can't stand it! My humidity is a little high for day 17, it's right at 65%, so now I'm trying to get it back down. Before today it was at 40-50%.

I think I'm gonna put some paper towels down in my egg rack, I'm not gonna be able to take the darn thing apart and clean it, and from what I've been told hatching is messy business!!!! All in favor say, "AYE"....

Are you sure you don't have a small pip? I'm just wondering since your humidity jumped so much, and when eggs hatch the humidity is released from inside the eggs. I'm on day 17 now, too and can't wait for Sunday!

I don't hear any cheeping, and the reason it jumped (I think) is because I had to add water. The water reservoir I filled has always kept the humidity at 45-50%, but for some reason it's higher.

The eggs aren't moving so much right now, only when I moved them to add water last night....I've seen them jump here and now, so I know they're still alive....

They won't drown with humidity that high, will they??? It's at 61% right now....
