What’s In A Name?

Pics
This is a fascinating thread and I'm so glad it was started! I'm "Dancing Bee" because a) my DH keeps bees (or tries too!), b) we call our place "Dancing Bee Farm" and c) my business is "Dancing Bee Baking". There you go. Bee-crazy.
That is so cute. I liked reading that. Kind of reminded me of a nursery rhyme. What does “Dancing Bee Baking” bake?

My whole experiment was to see if 12 chickens could impact the grasshopper plagues i routinely deal with on my acreage. Insecticides were so much trouble and the winds too strong. Grasshoppers dont stand a chance since i got them, nor do other bugs except fireants and mud wasps. Had no idea how entertaining they are. I restock by getting older hens from my friends egg laying business. I dont care if they lay eggs or not. Hence the name and i call them my assasin squad. The experiment has been a success and i enjoy sitting watching them. I have them trained to stay out of my shop so no more slick slip and falls when tinkering on projects.

Very, very interesting! I too am thrilled by the amount of insects my birds eat. Back before I let my originals free range, I used to collect all kinds of bugs and take to them and they were ecstatic, which made me happy. :celebrate But, sadly, as I later learned, I was taking them all the wrong kinds of bugs. All the ones mentioned first in any article about being the insects that were the intermediate hosts to all the icky worms. I felt so bad. :thBut I’m sure that once they began free ranging they ate those same kind and more. Oh well. They’re are still alive and kickin’. :bow

Nope, every story is interesting and never think otherwise. I like that you wanted to be a farmer. Very neat cause I like it too. I’m a long ways from being a real farmer, but I like the kind I am. I think my granddaddy would be proud of me.

I am getting my beehive this week and starting bee keeping with my lovely mum. I can't wait! All I need is cows and pigs
