Anyone know what this could be? This hen is just over a year old. She is still acting normal but we noticed she is limping. We just had to put our other silkie hen down (they were hatched together- we got them from the same breeder) because she could no longer stand/walk and was in severe pain. Could it be a genetic/breeding issue or or something? We have 10+ other chickens and none of them are having any problems. Thank you!

I'm not too sure, but this hasn't gotten any replies, I've seen something similar in someone else's flock, when a chicken's foot accidently got shut in a coop door it limped on one foot and hooped around not putting weight on the foot, the fact that the other silkie had problems makes me doubt this is what happened but, if there is anything that could of "smashed/crushed" If that is the case, it can take a few weeks/months to heal if it does heal, I know this probably isn't the case but I thought I'd attempt to help

It could be scaly leg mites. Can you coat her feet in oil daily for a couple weeks? I don't really know, but the mites would be my guess. I'm treating a bantam cockerel with it right now.
