A microwave oven does not cook things that are outside the oven because it is a "Faraday Cage" and keeps the harmful radiation inside.

Actually they do cook us, just not as much. Microwaves put out a lot of radiation.

CO2 is a fundamental building block of life. Virtually all life on earth would die if the concentration dropped below about 150 ppm. We are currently at a little more than 400 ppm, so if CO2 were to drop by about 60% we'd all be dead. Plant growers double and triple CO2 above 400 ppm in greenhouses and the plants grow crazy and the people who work there don't die.
