I’m so impressed. I haven’t been able to read anything that long and dry since I finished my Masters thesis. LOL! So was I correct when I said your part B premiums are higher if your income is higher?

Yes, we both were correct in that, but we had different figures for the income level. Turns out there are a bunch of different income levels, and at the highest one would be paying over $500/month for Medicare. But I suspect there are few on here with an income that would even approach those numbers!

Oh
sorry... Electromagnetic Field Antenna... Used to transmit Digital signals as in Cell phone data.... usually connected with coaxial cable....

Microwaves have a certain height and length... A Faraday cage for microwaves will have openings as large as the head of a pin without allowing the microwaves to escape. Because the height of the waves are a bit larger. They also tend to go in a straight line... So packing a certain distance for the propper signal is calculated and odd angles are added to turn the signal.... This is the voodoo part that I dont understand too welll.

Oh! I actually found that understandable.

True. I moved south for the warmer climate. :D

Faraday cages are simple to build for EMP. Anything metal that will surround you. Filing cabinets included. It is the blast that will get you though. I'm too close to Houston to worry about the "after".
Forming an EMP doesn't require a ground effect from your warhead. Easiest way to EMP a large portion of the earth is a high altitude detonation. As far south as you live you probably are not even to see the light show from the aroura effects!

by an old microwave and keep all your electronics in it....

A Faraday cage is easy to build but the materials are a bit pricy..... a simple one would be a car sized metal box with no openings except the door. The door has to have EMI seals which are made of rubber and copper wire.

I have been around very large Faraday cages.... Large enough to wheel a work wagon into. and have seats for three or four workers to do testing.

They are eerie.... Calm inside.... even in a frenetic loud workshop.

Mine experience with farraday cages weren't scary. They were the SCIF's we reviewed or processed classified materials in.

From solar wind, which is plasma and other particles. Solar wind shields the earth from cosmic rays. Solar wind correlates with sunspots. When there are little to no sunspots, like we are experiencing now (solar minimum), then there is less solar wind and more cosmic rays hitting earth's atmosphere. Some scientists (Svensmark et al) are working on proving a hypothesis that increased cosmic rays causes increased cloud cover, which causes cooling.
I woulda given you a full on like had you mentioned neutrinos. So I am giving you a halfhearted like.
