What I am piecing together from what I remember and what I am learning today.
A microwave oven cooks with radiation. A microwave oven does not cook things that are outside the oven because it is a "Faraday Cage" and keeps the harmful radiation inside.
How can I use this information, I must remember not to put my poodle in the microwave oven to dry it after a bath. correct me if i am wrong.

I love you like a sister PerchieGirl, but this is getting way too technical for a lot of us. Let’s accept the fact that in the event of an EM pulse, what can we do to prepare?

Not a lot.... Its the infrastructure that will be wiped out. The repairs will have to be components brand new built. for cell phones.... But the technology to build them is VERY tender to EMF pulse.... Unless someone has a factory that is protectted it will be a while before we have Cell communication again.

The old style Telephone system will be our go to.... they will probably dust off the old way of switching for a while. You know Pull a cord out and put it in another place.

CB Rados that work will be king.... THose you can fit in the microwave... Hand generators for generating electricity. And big A$$ battery packs to keep em going.

So Establishing a communication network will be essential.... This is where the community will come to gether in crisis. Help each other out....

People who have a ham station and license will also be the ones capable equipment wise for coordinating and seeking out radio signals. Those too are in need of EMF protection.

(CB and Ham Stations have different Distance capabilities. Ham can reach over seas occasionally CB is more for local conact... Though both can take advantage of Skipping their signal under cloud cover and going much farther)

WE cant rely on the government to "fix things" quickly.... there will just be too much. The military FBI and CIA and government installations may have hardened equipment meaning protected from EMF rays. The power grid says they are working on it... But I wont believe it till I see it...

REad the book "The Postman" By David BRin.... its science fiction and does a beautiful job of describing the Aftermath..... As well as how society begins to bring itself up out of Chaos.

Way different than the movie by the way.

I am a futurist.... Gloom and doom is not part of my vocabulary... Though some is needed for people to rise up and begin thinking outside of the boxes they lived in.

Yep... But the microwave doesnt actually cook the food.... it excites the water molecules causing them to heat. the more moisture in the foood the better a microwave will coook.
