What are you canning now?

You all blow my mind with multitasking!

I am happy to get 20 jars done in a day. I also have to juggle a 3 year old... doing home school type stuff... running by the play ground... occasionally watching the neighbor's kids... while juggling laundry... chickens.... dogs... cat... my business... my husband's business.... cooking breakfast lunch and dinner... and still.... expected to be the WIFE whenever I'm asked for more energy then I can muster.

I am drinking this last beer, reviewing my 25 order I got today... kissing my full pantry goodbye... then going to bed! Night ya'll!

Final count 95 jars made today. Tomorrow should be a big day. I should hit 1000 jars sold for 2010 if the cold weather doesn't scare everyone off.

I can't believe how much canning you do!

In addition to the nectarine jam I did last night, I have 6 more done tonight. More nectarines sitting in a basket on my counter waiting to ripen some more before they get put into jam too.

I usually do dill pickles, but my pickling cucumbers didn't do squat this year. I might go buy some just so I can make some pickles.

My cukes were almost non-existant this year, too. I've heard what a horrible year it's been for them. My hubby said and was right -- thay we usually had too many. This year we had maybe four good ones. I picked up a half bushel at the farmers market and made some dill pickles.

I sure am glad it wasnt just ME that had trouble with cukes this year! Some other people have been picking them like crazy but I have had only one! Maybe now that it's a bit cooler they will set...I have ton of flowers! TErri O

Today I have to do hot pepper jelly and my 4th batch of Apple Caramel as I am now SOLD OUT!!!

Yesterday I sold out of 4 of my jams and I am intent on restocking them by Tuesday.... I still have a store to fill in town as well as supply enough for the farm I buy from for the farmers market they do.

1000 jars is an AMAZING amount... I think I've sold something like 200+ at this point, we are going to do an offical sales count this week though. I do like the way your husband is involved. My husband has finally agreed to help, he knows he should have all along, but I've never been so busy until now. He does know how to pack my boxes, so I can get him to do that this weekend.... I am going to try to get him to stuff the dishwasher with jars for me, and maybe have him do the rinse inbetween uses of the pots so I can switch batches sooner. I am so proud of your husband for helping, I really am... that's a tough feat!

Henthymes, Bare Bottom Farms... Thank you! Its been one of those weeks.... I keep falling out on the couch and waking back up with my little angels face all up in mine. "Mama... I can see your eyeballs now!" ROTFLMAO

Rhubarb applesauce is done (8 pints). Zucchini and onions are sliced and salted and cooling for pickles. I have a peck of pears and a bushel of apples to do something with as well as more rhubarb in the garden. Hmmmm...
