What are you canning now?

I wish... I'm just very upset about how much time and energy I put into this set... 14 jars of worthless!

I don't even think the pear would taste good as a syrup. would you like pear syrup? I don't know?

But it would make a great glaze for chicken

Or you could mix some in with BBQ sauce. Or in a cake mix. Or over ice cream. or.......... Yeah I'm still working on a few ideas since part of my pear jam never set. It is good in stir fry though, just add it in right before you take it off the heat,

I think any fruit would be good over pancakes or french toast.

But also pear goes well with pork. Glaze the pork chops with them? Or a tenderloin?

I bought three boxes of quarts without even looking at how good of a deal they were. I'v already used them all up, so tomorrow I am going to town to buy more if they have any left. They are $3 cheaper than the ones I bought at walmart.

Will you add that to the recipe list so I can come back to it later when I lost this copy I printed

Thanks for adding it to the recipe list, then got to think tonight when I got home about those poppers- I don't like cream cheese and had none in the house. So I made my own.

Only did about 6 peppers to stuff and eat just for me.
Shredded Cheddar Cheese, store bought bacon bits, turkey sandwich meat choopped fine, a little ranch dressing to stick it together and salt and pepper to taste, stuffed the peppers with that and sat in fridge for a while, floured and the dipped in milk and floured again fried in olive oil. Forgot to take pictures, and I eat them all. They were good!

Deseeded the other jalapenos, and froze them for more poppers later!!!

Question for you all, I just made blueberry peach jam. I thought I got the reciepe off this thread and now I can't find it again to know who to ask...so I am asking all of you. It taste great but it is kinda runny. Will it thicken up as it cools off or should I go back and add more surejel? I am kinda new to this (as I am sure y'all can tell)! I guess worse case I could use it as a sauce and pour it over vanilla ice cream.

I hear ya. I got 9 half pints of candy apple jelly made last night and I don't have a very good feeling about them. I'll give them awhile but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Well I remade 1 half pint last night to see if it will set and it was still not set this morning. I will give it more time but what comes next. Is it still viable or pitch it??

ETA: and I personally think its still too runny for syrup.

I don't know... I'm staring at 14 jars and trying to figure out if they are 1: worth enough money to sell as syrup 2: going to take up too much space if they fail at their use and 3:what would make me more money in those jars (answer, dump them, let it go, and make more caramel apple jam and pear ginger honey preserves)

My issue is... would I even eat this as it is... (NO) and would I be able to sell it profitably (NO)

So... I move on! Going to pick up a bushel of Gala apples today (they are out of winesap for another week for so)
