What are you canning now?

Chick named Lola -- you can find them at Walmart or anyplace where they sell canning supplies.

Anybody ever make blueberry applesauce or how about strawberry applesauce? Thinking of doing it. If so, what did you do?

I've never seen one anyplace when I get canning supplies. I did find one online for less than $2!! I got one for me and one for a friend! I also found a couple of other neat things! Thanks!!

I'm thinking blueberry syrup for pancakes..yum! I've never tried jelly only jam so I think I will try cherry jelly...wish me luck!

Good!

Making jam is one of my favorite/easiest things to do. I should say that I just make strawberry, blueberry, caramel apple, and raspberry jams. I stick with the easy stuff, I guess. I'm sure making something like marmalade is more labor intensive. Good luck.

I made some strawberry applesauce with apples from my tree & strawberries from the farmer's market... It was AMAZING. Everyone's favorite, for sure. I don't remember the exact recipe but I pretty much cooked everything together & tossed it in the blender and pulsed it until I got the consistency I wanted. Then I water bath canned it!

I am itching to make more, but one of my jam pots got wrecked from a burn... and I'm waiting for it to be replaced by the company. May be 2-3 weeks still

I have a waiting list for jams... thank goodness my strawberries will be the first back in season, that's what I need asap. I learned a lot more about the demand to expect this year! LOL

Anyways... getting closer to finding some bulk jars. I may be able to order 500 gorgeous square 'vintage' type mason jars for $250 with shipping. They don't have the matching 4 oz jars though.

There is a wholesale place in NJ I just contacted. You actually have to contact them and ask for a quote and they have to call or email you with specifics. You have to have a federal ID to order from them... good thing I got one!
