What are you canning now?

I would love a remodel... but absolutely couldn't do it until it was between the months of Jan-March. Other then that, I'm using that kitchen 6 hours minimum out of the day!!!

Hubby just brought home a bottle of Magnolia wine... OMG! YUM! This may not make it to the jelly pot. Duplin Co ROCKS!

That sounds really good!

The kitchen has been in horrible shape for what seems like an eternity, I usually cook A LOT and my kids take the leftovers to school to warm up for lunch, one of the teachers called me a few weeks ago and was wondering if something was wrong because the kids had more "convenience" foods (healthy ones but I usually don't buy them) than normal and she was concerned

I really need to finish the kitchen this week!

Heckel's Hens :

I canned for the first time last night.

I made 10 pints of dill pickles.

Next up, jams. My mom made tons of it growing up and sold it. I hope mine is as yummy.

Welcome! Hope you share your adventures this year with us

3goodeggs, its actually a muscadine grape wine, with the floral hints of magnolia. Its from a local winery, but you should be able to find them all over the country actually. Its Duplin County Winery, and they have blends out and about for sale called things like "Hatteras Red" or "Magnolia" or "Bald Head Scuppernog". They have pictures of the NC Lighthouses on them.

This will make ya drool: http://www.duplinwinery.com/

Here's the first jelly I already made:

Here's the magnolia:

Here's my favorite of their wines, but I literally have to drive to the winery to get this. So I have to buy a case at a time:

Free tastings all day there.... so we make the drive 1-2 times a year on the way to TopSail Island beach. I love being 2 hours from the coast

Okay! I know them! I have had some of their white muscadine. It was very good. It was a gift to compare mine to. I do okay, but it is a fine line between ''dry'' and just flat out sour for mine...so it is all made sweet.

hey! I have gallons of pear wine...gallons and gallons of pear wine. I may try the jelly!! although, I have cases and cases of pear jelly, so...

I make vinegar with it too. I should just feed more pears to the chickens. I was passing the trees this morning and noticed the gumball sized pears on them already...

Addicting..just made 10 jars of Straw-Raspberry Jam. I'm just using grocery store goods...to practice. I thought this was going to be much harder to do! The Ball canning book is awesome.

(8) 1/2 pints of Caramelized Onion Balsamic Jelly!!! I can't believe I've been sold out since November and could just make it now. I love this stuff!!!

KD, have you tried a chutney with those mangos?

Not yet, I got these buggers on sale, when I went back to get more they were all gone.

ETA..... I'm also out of jars less than quart size and with the move supposedly finally happening in about 6 weeks I'm not entirely sure I want to go out and get more just yet. Everything else I get may get to be dehydrated.

Thanks for inspiring me! I am not a huge mango fan, but I saw some ripe ones today and went for it! Now I have Raspberry-Mango Jam for the 1st time, and the spoon I licked was super yummy.
