What I don't have from my own fruit, my DH's grandmother is nice enough to give me. Figs will be ripening next. (her fig tree is 30 years old, so she gets WAY more than I do)

Well I cut up and froze the rhubarb thanks for the advice it saved me some work for sure.

Arielle - Same here and it was supposed to rain but that didn't happen. Over 100 in the hoop coop though.

Holy I just keep freezing what I can to do up later . it's just to darn hot to cook.

Once I cook with wine too. Sometimes I even put it in the food.

I did a Cranberry wine jelly. Not to bad but since I don't drink it expensive to buy wine when you only need a cup or two. There are some left overs you just can give to the chickens.

Happy what's your recipe for Watermelon jelly. I bought a jar in AL but have yet to open it. I love watermelon and it would be hard to have some for jelly. I can eat a half watermelon by myself. I have a recipe for watermelon jam but its' iffy to get a good tasting watermelon these days. Not like when I was a kid. Now all these seedless tasteless round things.

I froze some peaches for later use. I hope I can get some more raspberries though there are the fall kind aren't there?

Sonew - you don't have a pitter? Or is that with a pitter? Anyone here use a pitter?

So much to do, so little energy.

By pitter you mean this tiny metal contraption that fits over your 3 fingers and you work it as a plunger pushing the seeds out while covering your hands in fresh staining Cherry juice? Yes...I have a pitter lol

Totally spoiled.

I know what you mean about pickling enough stuff...and now that I've got that new book I won in the raffle dedicated to just pickling...

I had better hurry up and whip this house back in shape so I can resume canning! I read once that tring to clean house with kids around is like brushing your teeth while eating oreos....I think it is so true! Goodness, while I'm cleaning one room, they are trashing the other! And with 4 kiddos under the age of 9...they do a great job!

And it has been too darn hot to spend much time outside lately. (my car temp reader thinging read 108* yesterday when we went into town...I even snapped a pic to show hubby)

We have a new washer/dryer coming on Friday so hopefully that will help with the laundry aspect (the current dryer is taking about 3.5 hours to dry a load). And in 2 weeks, I am going to a motel for the weekend all by myself for some very quiet UNinterupted lesson planning time! Me, a bottle of wine, and some books....I am so excited!

And now that I have used entirely too many smiley faces, I am going to stop this post!
