i have a mixed flock 1 Golden cuckoo marans, 1 blue cuckoo marans, 1 white cochin,1 blue cochin,1 buff Orpington, 1 lavender Orpington, 1 speckled Sussex, 1 EE, 1 Australorp, 1 austra white , 2 salmon favorelles all were 5 weeks Monday.. I do suspect my austra white may indeed end up being a roo as her comb popped out fast and is getting big.... I hope not as I will be forced to find a new home for him if so...my golden is the most adventurous followed by the austra white. I am in WV not far from Pittsburg PA.

My 2 year olds are 2 barred rocks, 1 blue ameraucana (she's the best layer!) and a blue ameraucana roo. My littles, not little anymore, already 5 mos old, are 3 salmon faverolles, 4 barred rocks, 2 splash blue ameraucanas, 2 EE's, and 1 light brahma roo, Big Jake. Getting lots of eggs these days!:D

This year, my kids decided they needed to start raising chickens in our yard, so we have a ton.

Currently, we have 3 americana's, 2 barred rocks, 1 Australorp, 3 production reds, 2 California whites, 4 buff orpingtons, 2 RIRs, 2 black sex links, and then I fell in love with and had to get 4 ducks. Part of the chickens are for meat, and part are for laying. The ducks are just impromptu acquisitions because I was weak, but I don't regret it one bit.

Most have names, and they're all between one and three weeks old. Yes. I have all of these in a closet in my house until we build a permaculture-style coop. They smell like all get out, but its safest for them and oh the little peeps.
