I bought three ducklings at TSC and no idea what they are. the mostly brown one I assume is probably a khaki Campbell, and the black and yellow is maybe a black swedish? but I'm not sure what the brown and yellow could be, are there brown swedish ducks? it's not of huge importance to know, I've just been searching around for a while trying to find out what they could be out of curiosity. I'd really appreciate if anyone has an idea of what type the brown and yellow one is(and the others too, if you think I'm wrong on black swedish and khaki)

Getting them used to the frying pan? :lau
They are cute ducklings, is their a chance they are cross bred?
pffff I didnt even realize, guess theyll be ready to jump into one if I ever wanted them to. yes I suppose that's definitely possible, I have no idea where tractor supply gets its birds, I guess I thought maybe there was a breed that had brown and yellow ducklings?

Any non-dusky duck with the allele for black will have a bib. So black-bibbed, blue-bibbed, chocolate-bibbed, etc... are very common among crosses.

Many pekins have black alleles and so many pekin crosses are bibbed. Cross a typical mallard with a typical pekin and you will end up with a black-bibbed duck that many will claim is a black swedish.

Likewise, cross a lilac runner with a mallard (or some pekins) and you'll get a blue-bibbed. Again, not a swedish.

I think that it is very unlikely that any of your ducks are swedish.

Golden 300 would be my guess. A Golden 300 is just a hybrid that are bred utilizing chocolate to make sex links, so really they can come in any color pattern. If so, it'd be a girl :) And if that's the case, the black one that's bibbed but not very well is possibly also one, and would be a boy.

thank you for your comments, I appreciate it! I googled the golden 300 and the ducklings dont seem to look like the one I have, but I assume that's because you said it's a variety and that's probably just the most popular shared version of the 300. I'll be excited to see what they grow into, and hopefully I'll remember to come back and share so anyone else who's curious gets to see! thank you all

Please do!

update on them, they're almost fully feathered except for their wings. the one that was possibly a black swedish is definitely not(top duck), I'm guessing they're a mallard or rouen mix since they still have the small white bib but all their black turned mallard pattern. the other one kept their solid brown color with the white bib(left), looks like a 'brown swedish' , if such a thing exists, if not I guess they're a swedish mix and the other I guess is khaki or at least looks like one(right). thankfully I dont care if they're mixed since I just keep them as pets.
