Hi all, got given this little hen, Sally, after she was the lone survivor of a fox attack that took out her whole flock. Would love to know what she might be, mostly just put of curiosity as her previous owner had no idea!
I had thought maybe a leghorn but she lays beautiful chocolate speckled eggs almost identical to my Marans which has thrown me. She is also quite a bit smaller and scrawnier then she looks in the pics and is smaller and sweeter then leghorns I’ve had in the past. She has yellow legs and no feathers on her feet, and is missing part of her comb due to the fox attack. She’s friendly and is happy to eat out of my hand but super timid and flighty (which is how she survived the attack as she managed to wriggle out of the foxes grip and fly over the fence
)
Thanks!!
