Can anybody identify the breed(s) of the rooster on the right?

We got him when he was about 3 months old from a friend who couldn't keep him but she did not know his breed, only that her daughter had picked out a "lavender" chicken.

The closest I have seen is the blue sex link rooster in this thread. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/sex-linked-information.261208/page-222

The rooster on the left is a cross between a Cuckoo Maran hen and a Porcelain Belgian D'Uccle rooster. He was a surprise addition to our flock.

Very close but I don't think so because his legs are pinkish grey, not yellow like the pictures I have seen of Sapphire Gem roosters.View attachment 2510750
You can make Blue Sexlinks from a number of breeds. They're essentially a mix. For his barred parentage he make have Cuckoo Marans. Or maybe he's just a mix with no sexlinking in mind! Basically he's a mix either way :)

Ya he's not a sapphire gem. Correct on wrong skin/shank color and he's got a heavier build. Could be a different type of blue sex link (they've been popular as of late) or just a mixed breed. Or I guess even a blue cuckoo Marans.
Not sure how you'd ever know for sure.

I'm sure you're right about him getting a cross. It doesn't matter to us, we're just curious what he might be. ☺️

Are they 100% sure on that? He's very large to have a bantam father and leg feathering is (usually) preferred in Cuckoo Marans.

Sapphire gems are mixed from two breeds, which means that leg color is not standardized.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Sapphire Gems the product of one hatchery? Meaning the 'secret formula' they use is what makes a Sapphire Gem? Sapphire Gems are therefore Blue Sex-link, but not all Blue Sex-links are Sapphire Gems.

I'm of the opinion that he is probably a Cuckoo Marans mix going off the white/pink legs. If you knew what potential parents it could have had it might narrow it down. Either way, he's handsome. I always enjoyed my Cuckoo Marans.
