What chicken breeds should I get??

I'm going to (third) all the Brahma recommends, assuming you have the right climate for them, or can mitigate the worst aspects of a poor climate for them.

Of all my birds (ok, I admit, I don't have that many), my Dark Brahma are the most entertaining. and they are beautiful in their own way. The Silver Laced Wyandotte will probably be prettier, when all is said and done, but I really like the personality of my Brahmas.

This is "Chuck" (who thinks he's a duck, most days) browsing for insects.

Hello everyone! I am in my first year of raising chickens, but I'm loving it and have some serious chicken math. I keep getting a couple new chicks every once in a while and I want to get a more substantial number (5-10) next time I buy. I've been getting chicks from Orscheln's, Murray McMurray, Meyer Hatchery, and a local hatchery (Heartland). I was wondering what chickens y'all would recommend me getting next! I currently have a bantam cochin, a barred rock, a blue copper maran, a brown leghorn, a buff orpington, a production red, and a silver laced wyandotte (7 in total). What breeds should I get next? I only have one bantam, so I want to get more but I can't find a hatchery that will sex them! Also, my chickens are pets with benefits, so I'm not interested in meat birds. Thanks!!!!!
I'm first time chick owner too. I got gold sex links because they produce, but live a short life, so I mixed them with buff orpingtons that live longer. So far, my gold sex links have great personalities. I will likely get more sex links plus polish to add some flare.

We had a red sex link that lived a pretty long, healthy life (6 years). She was exposed to Mareks, wet fowl pox, scorching heat in southern California, and predators (she was attacked by a stray Husky and survived several opossum attacks before we learned how to predator-proof the coop and run), but was at the top of the pecking order and a very sweet, affectionate, funny bird. Your sex links might surprise you with a long, healthy life, too!

Aww! Are they a heavier breed?

Yeah. They are HUGE. I'd guess my biggest cockerel is 8-10 pounds. So a wonderful dual purpose breed. You can tell chicks apart from day 1, because of the autosexing. Here are mine.
