Hey everyone! This thread is for all who want to know the color of certain breeds’ eggs. Feel free to post pics of your prettiest eggs alongside the chicken breed that laid them. Maybe we’ll see some pink eggs!
Have fun! :)
This egg is from my Ameraucana hen, Cocoa.

I'll add to this thread. Its always nice to see the deference in eggs not only between different breeds but the differences in one breed its self.

Left is from my pekin bantam (aka bantam cochin) right is my araucana

Left white eggs are polish and minorca, two brown are both barnevelder pullet eggs

Very colorful egg basket.
Is your Minorca a black, white or blue? I had white Minorcas and loved them. Do they have all 3 varieties in Australia? Whites and blues are very rare here. In fact, I've never seen a blue in person.
There are a couple lines of barnevelders here that lay very dark eggs but most don't. Most people don't select for it.

She's a black, rosecomb variety. Shes also the first I have ever seen in person. Yes we have all three here, blacks are hard to come by, blues a bit more and whites are like the unicorns or minorca.

I have also found a lot of Barnevelder breeders here don't select for egg colour either, lets just say I have seen plenty of commercial brown eggs darker than a lot of fertile eggs for sale around my parts.
