What color eggs will I lay (if ever)?

It was at least 3 months old when I got it (stupid newbie me thought it was a mature bantam hen) and I've had it for probably 3 months. Comb has always looked the same in proportion to body and color. It has grown ALOT since I got it- probably 3 x bigger than it was. So it's gotta be around 6 months old ish

I know it hasn't laid an egg yet cuz I would notice a blue or green egg, but I'm positive that it doesn't crow either. The group is freeranging during the day so I don't think that intimidation by other roos would keep it from doing that,

rancherchick- how old are your ee roos?

Cockerel sorry

It's okay if it's a roo- just have to figure out what I want to breed it to to get the desired effect I'm looking for- Dual purpose bird with small comb, black feathers have turquoise and purple sheen, crele-ish if I can manage it, lays nicely colored eggs, good growth rate, broodieness, clean legged and can freerange well. I love the fact that ee's come in sooooooo many different patterns as it will make the project interesting.

That is a roo..also if your barred rock has a little red or copper coloring it's not a barred rock but a sex link rooster. They can be mistaken for a poorly marked BR but will have the little bit of off color in them as well where a barred rock doesn't..it's the red from the RIR bleeding through. We had one life long chicken know it all spend 5 minutes telling me my pen was full of BR roos those were not sex links...however my only BR roo was still growing up and I knew what they were I hatch them.
Most of my EE's and Ameraucana's(we have both) never crow here they are so low on the pecking order. They get along with roosters and hens alike(they really like the hens

I suggest getting more EE pullets to breed him to..never enough chickens

I have no idea what hatchery they came from but I got them at the mall (yes, the mall) at easter time for an extremely low price and they were mixed with pure barred rock pullets (cuz I got some of them too) so that's very odd.

This is the roo in question (and in front of him is one of the BR pullets I got with him). Check out his neck. This REALLY REALLY stinks cuz I need a BR roo to breed with my BR hens and now I won't know. GRRRRRRRRRRR Do all BSL roo's have red bleeding through? I have a couple of these young roos with NO red bleeding through- can I safely assume that they are pure BR? I'm gonna still keep this one cuz I want to play with the red and black barring.

Yeah, I have been kicking myself in the butt for not ordering some EE's when I got my cuckoo marans pullets (thank you Ideal!).

Do you think he's a good example of an ee roo? I like his markings but I know next to nothing about EE's except they lay colored eggs.
