What Delicious Fall Recipes Are You Cooking Right Now?

We're big fans of Ree, here. That's our kind of food--hot, brown, and a lot of it

It wasn't necessarily her recipe, but I remember talking about Frito pie once at work. One of my co-workers, a real back-woods type, had never heard of it. I asked her what kind of redneck she called herself, not ever having had Frito pie.....she laughed and said apparently not a good enough one. So I had to bring in Frito pie, of course.

I admit that I had never had frito chili pie before I made it yesterday! I blame it on being a transplanted yankee! It really was delicious though and because it was so simple to prepare, I think it's going into regular rotation here at our house.

I've only made a handful of Ree's recipes but all have been really really good. Are there any favorites of her's you could recommend @donrae ? Or any other recipes you think would be great for this cooler fall weather??

Please excuse the ignorance, what is Ree?

Ree Drummond is also known as The Pioneer Woman. I've followed her blog for years and years, now she has a cooking show on The Food Network. Lots of down home ranch food. Her husband's family are cattle ranchers in Ok.

I enjoy a lot of her dishes, mostly the meat/main dish types. Some of the sides and pasta dishes aren't so much for us as my Honey is diabetic and eats a low carb diet. Her chicken Parm is wonderful, if you haven't tried that. Crash hot potatoes are always a winner here, my kiddos called them Crashed Taters when they were younger. Of course classics like chicken fried steak or Salisbury steak are always great. Those are the things I'm thinking of right off the top of my head.

I actually made a small pot of chili mac for lunch. I may buy some Fritos and have leftovers for lunch all week

I'd been craving chicken pot pie and intended to make one, your post looks so yummy. then I was out the Grocery Outlet and marie callender's pot pies were on sale so I just bought one of those. it was okay, but not near as good as my own would have been!

It's cold and kind of rainy here. I just put a pretty full chicken carcass in a pot. I'm not sure what it's going to be yet. I just moved it over to the wood stove to simmer for a few hours.

If we were to get there by 5, I think we'd need to travel through a wormhole! Could a beg a photo of the delicious meal from you for this thread instead? A little food porn never hurt anyone!
