What did you do in the garden today?

One of my herb kits came in today so I got to plant, all of this came with the kit plus the seeds. I'm so excited 😆

Welcome to the garden thread to those of you just joining in and aloha kakahiaka to all!

I hate too say it @WthrLady but I'd be one of those moms... actually I'd be one of those neighbors- who needs kids to have an excuse right???- Your Alpaca's are adorable and I bet what ever else you have on your farm is pretty darn cute too... but back to those Alpaca's... I, of course, would come up with some weird excuses, like borrow sugar or buy eggs, maybe bring carrots or whatever you would allow. Heck, I'd volunteer to clean out their stalls they are so cute. :love Maybe you could post some photos for this old childless mother/nutty chicken gal???!!! Tee hee!

Our temps have been 70 at night and 80 during the day (no kidding). Doesn't get much better than that. Love this fabulous time of year. Been meaning to post photos of some of the spring blooms from our yard for those of you still stuck in winter mode.

Because we are gardeners and dig this stuff.

No gardening for me though, i do need to trim and mow, spread compost and close up a compost tumbler bin, clean coop and run and nesting material.... and on and on it goes.
I'm going to vacuum, clean bathroom and go for a ride. Tonight DH and I have our belated anniversary dinner to-go.
Have a great day all!!!! Get dirty, stay well!!!!! <3

garden will be good. Some people construct potato towers. @WthrLady constructed some and has pics, if I’m remembering correctly. I’m putting them in raised beds. So far so good with plant and forget. This year I will hopefully mound them at least once as @BReeder! mentioned for a bigger harvest. My plan is to plant them in the spring, hopefully next week. But a later planting for a later harvest is also fine. Just remember to water consistently and well while they are flowering. Let them die back then harvest a bout a week or two later. Once harvested, let them “cure” in a well ventilated area before storage, for longer storage. Some types don't store as well as others.
Yup we did towers two years ago. They worked well BUT took a LOT of water. I recommend a center tube for watering and only plant the edges and plant a LOT! We gave up eating potatoes that year too, so I gave them all away.

I had to pick up an order of chicken feed from Farm and Fleet. I ordered when it was on sale to get the price because they ran out of stock. Now we'r are stocked up on feed for 2-3 months. While there, I grabbed the seeds we didn't yet (all but the lacinato kale I want). When I got home, I got DS busy planting some yellow squash starts with me. Now I'm officially done with planting starts indoors. I'm really hoping to get the garden in order next week. If I can rent a tailor tomorrow I am going to go pickup the compost barn cleanout from a guy the next town over. He said he had about 4 cu. yds. worth, which will be useful in amending the new beds and newly tilled section (once I get the beds built, silk mixed and ground tiled that is...).

Also, more starts are sprouting all sorts of tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, leeks, and peppers.
