Sure! I had some of the leaves chopped in stir fry last night. They're kind of like a mild flavored cabbage. The seedlings look like radishes or cabbage when they sprout. Just another brassica.

These are the bok choi seedlings that sprouted yesterday.

I did a major prune on my grapes over the winter. They had gone hog wild and were taking over everything in front of them like a blob horror movie. This evening I went through from end to end and removed any growth that was sprouting below 3 ft. I just need to stay on top of it to keep any rogue sprouts from growing. I tied down the longer growth to the new fence arbor so the growth goes up instead of falling forward and taking over the raised beds like last year. I'm also bagging grapes this year to keep the birds and bugs at bay.

Finally getting around to putting together turntables for the strawberry barrels. Just painted them with Thompsons Water Seal. There's 3 of them...

I have seedlings, indoors. Woke up to snow, this morning. It has since melted. I'm getting very antsy for planting season. Serious cabin fever!

BUT where [the shovels] is it made?

The King of Spades shovels are still made in the USA. The YardWorks shovels are made for Menards and MTD Products, using multiple companies. Some of those are in China, but in other countries as well from what I could find online.

I was fortunate enough to have travelled to many parts of the world when I was younger. First, as a college student, then in the military. It just seems to me that people all over the world need to make a living to support their families, not just here in America. Maybe in a perfect world, each country would find what they do best and trade on their advantages without hurting hard working people in other countries. That would be the best case scenario, I guess.

Do you start your bok choi inside? I thought they were direct planting. How far in advance do you start them indoors for transplanting later?

Those look great. Dear Wife is from the Philippines and she would be willing to cook up as much Bok Choi as I can get to grow. But here in northern Minnesota, Zone 3B, I never had much luck with direct planting.

We eat lots of stir fry in our house!

Thank you for sharing. I don't know if any of mine is growing but if course where I planted it the chickens decided I didn't plant it right so they had to fix it for me.

Yes, I start the seeds indoors, and I've planted them outside after only a couple weeks. They handle cool/cold weather really well too. I would try direct seeding but with slugs and earwigs in the garden I think setting out started plants gives them a better chance of survival.

It's actually Baby Choi I'm growing, and they're some of the fastest growing things I've planted in the garden. But they're quick to bolt when the temperature gets warm outside, or maybe it has to do with the length of daylight.
