What did you do in the garden today?

It just seems to me that people all over the world need to make a living to support their families, not just here in America. Maybe in a perfect world, each country would find what they do best and trade on their advantages without hurting hard working people in other countries. That would be the best case scenario, I guess.
Yes that's would be a perfect world.
But currently sweatshops are more prevalent in poorer countries. That's one reason why a shovel is $10 vs $200

It's actually Baby Choi I'm growing, and they're some of the fastest growing things I've planted in the garden. But they're quick to bolt when the temperature gets warm outside, or maybe it has to do with the length of daylight.

I have some Baby Bok Choi seeds as well. I cannot remember why I was unsuccessful when I planted them, but it could have ended up as wild rabbit feed. This year, I have built chicken wire protective cages for my raised beds to keep out the deer, and rabbits, etc... so maybe it's time to give it another try. I'll start them indoors first. You Baby Bok Choi looks wonderful. Thanks.

I have started this week to sprout wheat seeds for my chickens, the green leafly is getting super expensive to buy. The local veg&fruit shop gives me cauliflower leaves and still not enough for my chickens.

What I dislike most doing sprout for my chickens is that..those little fruit or some sort of flies that hang around the seeds and they bite me. I have 2 trays in my kitchen.

I might get those rectangle trays with lids so that I can shut it away from those flies.

Other than that, I am still working in the garden weeding/getting the garden ready for the cold weather/ready for the rain any day..etc..

Mowing the lawn every 5-7 days, it grows back so fast. I have 4 garden beds and those 4 are a lot of work, even with the help of my feather kids.

I did it. I put plants in the ground today! 10 tomatoes are in.

I'm leaving the rest of the photos below of the growth of my labor. 😂 It's been a long haul. I'm excited to get stuff in the ground.

Today I also mowed the lawn, mowed the clover, and mowed the orchard. Added grass clippings as mulch around my potatoes. Got more seeds started where cells didn't germinate two weeks ago. My home collected marigolds didn't have a great germination rate. I think I planted them too deep though. Not sure. We'll see if the redo ones do any better.

Tomorrow I pick up a few unique plants from the local community college ag plant sale. I'm really looking forward to getting the garden planted with summer crops.
Just need the potatoes to hurry up... And the garlic... And the broccoli...

I'm wiped from all the yardwork this week. My tank top tan is a little excessive at this point. Even with sunscreen.

Frost in Greece! I did not know that was possible. Do you live in the mountains, or something like that? I have visited Greece a couple of times in my life, and it was always as hot as Hades when I was there. It's hard for me to imagine frost in Greece.

I live between mountains and the sea shore. a bit closer to the see shore. there are a lot of olive orchards here. fyi, olives don't grow in the mountains.

we usually get frost a morning or two in january. this year's weather is unpredictable.

:hit I'm only 8 weeks behind you. But I did get my starter shelves put up today. Probably start filling pots tomorrow. Our plant date is end of May, with warm weather plants going out mid-June. I have a few cool weather plants on my list that might get planted about mid-May.

A cold rain yesterday morning. DW was mad at me yesterday and she was already mad at the president. Credit card bill came, and she saw what I spent on garden stuff. I did not hide it she misunderstood when I told her about it. She thought it was for home repairs. A bad habit of hers is to fill in with what she thinks I said.

maybe your DW is my mother's twin sister:lau

Wow, seeing your work bring me to shame. ❤️ I better get moving with my plants

G’morning gardeners. Yesterday I checked all the beds to see if anything needed watering but they all seem good. The corn is growing like crazy, one of the cucumbers has attached itself to the fence around the garden and the sunchokes are looking fabulous. The dragon fruit are looking good too, although not yet tall enough to grow over the trellises and fruit yet but hopefully by next year they will. I went through my calendar and planned for the rest of the year and separated out the seeds for what I want to plant. Since it heats up so quick here now I’ll be starting most things inside and transplanting as soon as weather permits. This is about the only way I’ll get any produce, our growing seasons are so short!
