I get to visit my garden once a week. It's at my parents' house, since I live in an apartment. This week I weeded (for the first time--Dad tilled it for me) and tried to bury my potatoes a little farther. I also pinched off the suckers from the tomatoes, and helped Mom (helped = talked to. Same way cats "help.") with her morning glories, which are going mad over the dog fence.
It's my first year having this many different things in the garden. We'll be expanding the veggies next year, Mom says we'll maybe double our output. I'd like to sell in farmer's markets but I can see that these two little plots aren't big enough, even though they seemed huge when I started planting!
I have 4 broccoli plants (did not know you only get one head from each plant. Will do more next year since I love broccoli.) A row of potatoes. 16 tomatoes (I love tomatoes.) 3 pie pumpkin plants. 8 cucumbers and 4 cantelope, though those aren't as happy as the rest. Oh, onions & radishes.
I'm 32 and it surprises me more and more each year how much I am like my parents.
