What did you do in the garden today?

Don't grow corn here either...too many times losing it to raccoons that raid the patch at night. Fighting coons now over the pears. They are masters at avoiding live traps and snap traps. Will be resorting to night watch again with the 22.
So in the garden today, I picked pears off the Bartlet pear. The Moonglow will be ripening in the next two weeks.
Picked a few Jalapenos for hot salsa verde.
The heat index is high with 1/4 inch rain predicted.
Wet down all the poultry pens today.

I have a couple of rose bushes I need to plant, clearance at Lowes for $5. They're in sad shape and need some pruning but I almost always have good luck with plants from there. Spread some mulch around the apple tree and watering pretty much everything. Cleaned off the patio, fed and watered the chickens. Lots more to do but no heavy lifting. Finally got a wheelbarrow :woot
Yeah, we had no room on the truck when we moved so we had to get a new wheel barrow too.

I don't hill corn. I have used a deep mulch system for the past 30+ years, and simply pile the mulch up around the base of the corn. currently converting my garden to BTE which will also not require any hilling.
Thanks.
What's BTE?

hey bought 4 butterfly nets at dollar store last two days
That's where they all went. :lau
Gal did say to find a real dollar store. Guess they were bought out and only carry them seasonally.
