What did you do in the garden today?

Sooo, I'm going to try a couple of new things this spring. Baker/Rare Seeds has a bunch of South American nightshade family seeds that apparently taste like fruit. My mom got me a gift certificate (yay Mom!) to there, so I'm going to experiment. Naranjilla and one other whose name escapes me right now. Also the atomic grape tomatoes on the cover of the catalog. They're pretty, hope they're also tasty!
We're trying a new kind of tomato this year, in addition to some of the usual varities. Hubs ordered some Opalka toms from Totally Tomatoes. Sounds like they're really good sauce tomatoes, which I wanted for canning. Can't wait to see how they turn out!

*waves hands* I actually did something today! I started reorganizing the seed shelf area. My partner and I took some time to reimagine the area, shift a shelf over and take measurements for a new one. So we are going to be making a new shelf about 4' wide for all the new seedlings this year. I may also be ordering a new light and heat mat for all the additional seedlings. :) If I do order a light it will be a big one, like a full 4' light with at least 2 bulbs, maybe 4 bulbs.

I bought fluorescent fixtures but they are going back. Hubby bought LED lights. Low energy consumption and long lasting.
