What did you do in the garden today?

I keep reading that everyone is getting a good amount of RAIN. I did not want to feel left out. The weekend was nice for the beginning.(Saturday and Sunday) Monday we got this in about 2 hours.:old

One reason I prefer to container grow things now. This water is only in the low area of back yard, so driveway and patio, are well above water. My flower beds in front of house are always fine, since they are higher level than back yard. Most likely wont need the sprinkler on grass for a day or two.
I can almost hear the mosquito larvae hatching out:gig:barnie

Good morning @cavemanrich. Have you considered installing a swimming pool? LOL! The weather in New England is still nice. It is a bit cooler today and showers are on the way. Best wishes go out to our chicken community in Ohio. I heard it was a wretched night. On a lighter note, I almost feel guilty, but I'm having a stellar day already. Yesterday I picked my first radishes. They were quite yummy in the salad I had with my dinner. I managed to get a little cultivating and thinning done in the garden. Both the yellow squash and zucchini I planted are coming up. This morning the local turkeys greeted me with a slow parade behind my backyard, chowing down on bugs all the way. But my happiest moment was when I was looking at the bare stick in the pot that should be my fig tree and OMG it is alive! A leaf bud is starting to open. Good thing I didn't plant flowers in the pot. I feel like I won the lottery (well almost). Have a great day everyone Happy gardening! :wee

Good morning gardeners:frow

We had beautiful weather all weekend, a bit breezy Sunday afternoon and yesterday morning.

I got the interior of the coop whitewashed, 2 coats looks better than 1 and it wasn't fully dry in these snaps.

Our temps are supposed to be going up, triple digits again by this time next week and high 90s before the weekend.

I wateted the lantana and hibiscus but really need to do the grass today if I have time.

Have a great day all

I'm envious, running the sprinkler again today, there's cracks in the ground. It's like we skipped May and June and went straight to July. I planted carrots around the beginning of April and 1 already bolted. The bush beans are acting like it's too hot to grow. Somebody remind them they like hot. I'm not hand watering the pots today, they're getting the sprinkler too while there's shade. I'm dreading the weed eating I'll have to do, but at least the area won't become bare dirt. I've christmas fern waiting to be planted, I may just stick them in a pot this year and plant them next year.

Somebody tell mother nature we're supposed to be a temperate rainforest! :hmm

Yes, fine. I was referring to your previous post that your veggies are still inside, in their flats, due to bad weather. aka "flat prison"
I know.

I couldn't remember WHERE in western ohio you were. My old house in dayton was sandwiched a .25 mile between two tornado. She had lovely 250 year old oak trees in the back yard when we moved away. I cannot imagine they appreciated the winds.

another stormy night on duty. another almost 2 inches of rain for us. That puts us at over 11 for the month and more coming today and tonight.
