What did you do in the garden today?

I'm impressed by the seedling heat pads. I just planted all of this a few days ago and the eggplant and tomatoes are all sprouted already. For comparison, the unheated zucchini starts have only 4 sprouts still bent over in the soil.

In other garden news, I checked the peach tree today and see that it's just starting to kick into gear again. It had these leaf nodes (that's what I'm calling them) all over.

Also, I solent a little more time on the compost and got the rest of the second bin moved to the new site and stirred in the process. I forgot how much fibrous matter I placed in the bottom for drainage... That's going to all have to get picked out before I use this compost. Its corn stalks and stems from woody weeds. Other than that, the compost is looking really good. It should be ready to use in about 2 months, just in time to mulch the garden plants as they should be in ther grind and tall enough too mulch around by then.

Today I planted Bare root strawberry plants, and started mounding topsoil along the edge of the garden for dahlias.
i don’t know how many people here are interested in houseplants, but I also took tons of cuttings from jade and various succulents to root. I also repotted various houseplants. And rearranged My houseplant shelf. If anyone is interested in seeing my houseplant collection I can post some pics.

Ya. you hit that magic soil temp for plants and OFF they GO!
I'm still waiting on the tray of peppers, but they are always slower for me. I noticed a few leeks sprouting too. Now I really need top get there few seeds I don't have that need to start indoors, yellow squash for one. There may be a few others. I need to check my spreadsheet.

To make things interesting I stole the LED light bar from my large aquarium. There's only 3 fish in it right now so they won't miss the light. The sprouts are looking leggy to me and I'm hoping this added light will still them from growing too excessively to search for light.

I didn’t know bees could make their own queen if theirs died. That’s good info to know for when I decide to bee keep.

my apple seedlings are still alive. They still look like they’re growing their roots and not the visible parts (Leaves & stems). Pear seedlings are still growing and are looking healthy. Very happy.

I have been saving all the seeds from my apples 🍎 🍏 and placing them in the refrigerator just how I got the others to germinate. I’m not planning on planting them any time soon but I did see this one start coming out while I was adding more seeds to the paper towel.
