What did you do in the garden today?

I pulled weeds, tied up tomato plants ( I saw some small Roma tomatoes and a couple small tomatoes on the Beefeeter tomato plants too! :love )cut some oregano and dried it in the oven.
My bee mentor came over this evening (Monday) and we opened the hive together. She was impressed at how mellow the bees are and with how vigorous they are too!
She suggested that we do a split if I want too. So we will do that in the next week or 2.
She even said she thought I could harvest some honey from this (current) hive later this year.
I'm not holding my breath for that though since I went into it with the expectation of no honey the first year.
I'll try to catch back up with all the other posts later.

Didn't do anything in the garden, but we chopped fake bamboo, blackberries, and fast-growing vines (morning glory? anyway, they produce crazy pods) We cleared all round the shed and made inroads behind the other shed. Five truckloads to dump at the edge of our field. All in between raindrops.
It's supposed to be 100% rain tomorrow, At least our lilac trees have some light now,

Good news @karenerwin - nice job with the bees!

@igorsMistress is that thing real?

@littledog - I grow morning glory on my dog pen fence & was bummed when NONE came back this year! I didn't collect & dry any pods last year because it always just seeds itself - well I guess not always!

I wish I could send all you glad lovers mine! I thought I ripped them all out last year but a bunch are popping back up this year. They came with the place and they are the ugliest colors, I can't stand them - like fake neon colors. 🤮

I need to move around some cuke starts today - that bunny really did a number on my cukes & on top of him, they're such slow starters. I'm thinking my seeds were getting a little tired as they weren't new this year.

Have a great day gardeners!

Beautiful morning glory, @Sueby! Had a "Picotee" last year and it was so pretty.

Can anyone help me with these bush beans? I can't find any critters or real evidence thereof besides the holes and general sad state.

Whatever varmint is making it over the fence half-dug one up. It'll probably die now, but I re-planted it anyhow. Can't hurt to try. Still rather upsetting. Despite the HC it left holes everywhere... Cuke and pole bean seeds probably disturbed or gone, too. Now I look like a lazy gardener because this critter just destroys everything I do! :(

Good morning gardeners. We have a light breeze and it's cool on my skin. I'm sitting on the patio while the dogs play. I walked through the garden last night to check on things and took a few pics

I'm going to plant a few glads along this lattice to test chicken hardiness. I'd like to hide it from view when we're on the patio.

Going to pull the groundcover too and plant some flowers here, not sure what yet.

This is where the artichokes were. The plants along the wall bloom red and yellow so I'm looking for more bulbs to plant and might try some forget me nots in there too next year. The window boxes are to grow grass for Walt this Fall.

Headed out to water, have a great day everyone!

PS, the aloes are greening up! It has taken watering every other day and the hay mulch to get them to plump up enough to turn green.

Good morning gardeners. Still plugging away at the baby coop. Did I mention how much I hate little fence staples. I nailed down the bottom of the HC yesterday and that's a big pain in my back. The top row will be easier. Just when I thought my allergies were waning, the pine trees started filling the air with green powdery pollen. This morning I partitioned off the potato plants and covered their bases with chopped straw. I'll add some dirt on top of that. I did a very little bit of pulling grass away from my radishes. That's likely all the garden work for the day. I took some pictures. The potatoes and my herb garden with overgrown parsley, and this dove that spent about 20 minutes bathing and grooming at the bird bath yesterday evening. I am very happy to see little flower buds developing on my lavender plants. Great pictures @igorsMistress. Thanks for sharing. Congrats on your success with the bees @karenerwin. I hope the thunderstorms that rolled through Massachusetts didn't "dampen" your weekend @Sueby. Back to work in a few minutes. Have a great day everyone.

Another over 90 day. The humidity is making my eyelids sweat.
Crazy stormy later with hours of winds over 65mph.
Putting up our water.
Stacking the patio furniture.
Putting up the hail shutters on the coop.
I tied up the taller tomato plants last night.
I might toss 5 gallon buckets over the delicate squash plants, with a rock on top of course. LOL.
Have a great day all.
