What did you do in the garden today?

Oh sure.
An advil sinus, hot shower and scone got rid of the headache. Pretty sure it was the scone that fixed the whole thing.

Used all whole wheat flour, and I used cream because that's what I had and made white glaze.

What a marvelous web site! I found 3 recipes to try just searching "pumpkin".
Pics later
We will hold you to that! :) We love pictures an I'm always interested in how folks do their raised beds.
My garlic arrived today from southern exposure also. Yay!!
I have to plant 10 times as much garlic as last year, I've already used up all of my home grown garlic. But then I only planted 8 cloves in my one and only first raised bed. I'm mad keen for the delivery of my garlic.

I got three heads to plant and it’s all going in the ground. I’m thinking about building a raised area inside the garden so I can fill it in and put the garlic in there by itself. These will go in the fridge tomorrow for six weeks and then plant at the beginning of November.

Been busy cleaning my two brooder boxes and get that whole room back in order today. Chicks are 4 weeks now and got to spend the whole day outside while I got their room in order. Also worked on their coop. I keep getting new ideas for it as I go soooo another trip to the supply store I go. I have a bell pepper that should be ready to pick tomorrow and plenty of jalapeños. Pepper jelly here i come. This will be my first time making it myself and I'm super excited.

Sounds like several of you had a busy day. I too wait to get my garlic planted. Hopefully we can get the raised bed done. Mine won't be two foot high though.

Sorry about your sweet birdie @penny1960

I harvested a lot of Bok Choy, mostly taking bottom leaves so it keeps growing. Had a Huge stir fry with it where I added my own tomatoes and green onions. You can even see the Green Onions I cut in this picture. The Bok Choy grew a bit long and tall to the point I had Vine Bores in some of them that I had to pluck up. Some leaves were eaten by slugs so I dropped them off for rabbits. Not real big on hydroponics but since I built a bubble cloner for peppers and my air pump may be too powerful for just one system I might make a Bok Choy or other leafy veggie growing machine.

Good morning gardeners. Not much happening now. I did pick an okra this morning. There's one more developing. Should be ready in a couple of days. I picked the one fig that looked ripe. Not so good. Just another victim of this drought. We are "bracing" for three days of rain. I hope they got the forecast correct this time because they're saying 2 inches of rain. We so desperately need it. My goal is to get the BES and the bulbs planted today before the rain starts. My daughter had Covid back in March but no longer tests positive for antibodies @igorsMistress. There have been a few cases mentioned on the news that people have gotten it more than once, although they have also discovered different strains of the virus as well. The scientists are learning more about the virus everyday, but like any illness it will just take time. Best wishes for your mother. My little butternut squash appear to be ripening some. With these warmer temps for now I can let them lay for now and hopefully they will get to an edible ripeness. After my winter prep is done I can try to figure out what to plant for next year and have a plan for dealing with the bugs. So many bugs this year. Ugh! Have a great day everyone.

Tiny, and I mean tiny, bit of rain this morning. Enough to knock the smoke and the harvest dust out of the air. That is until the field dry and they start up again. So the house is open. As soon as it does dry, I'll go pull every tomato out of the garden and the plants too. Pull back the mulch in the bed to prep for chicken poo through the fall.

Maybe I'll pull a horseradish root and make fresh for supper.

Barn and workshop need picked up and prepped for fleece cleaning, which goes to the mill this week.

Compost needs taken to the hayfield and spread. But not on damp ground.

Have a great day all.
