What did you do in the garden today?

Winds are still howling, won't make it over 22'F here again today, but headed upwards to highs of 50 starting tomorrow, where we belong.
The shop needs cleaned out, but I'll wait until I can open the large bay door, same day I liberate the hens for a bit.
Arthritis in fingers is paying me back for sewing yesterday, so big things on the books today, like laundry and maybe making waffles for the freezer.
High anxiety day yesterday, so I also need to catch up on class today and work further ahead.

its cold drizzly misty rainy wet miserable today. what a wonderful day to garden.
Actually I think ill wait until tomorrow it supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow too, hope it does, lets get the ground softened up a bit so I can rip weeds out easier and then prune everything and get it ready for wintering over.

I usually start the day with a plan.. then as the day goes on, not ONE friggin thing in my plan gets accomplished, but ive been working for a solid 8 hours, am tired as hell and there's a little bit of 'improvement' if you look carefully here and there, sort of, maybe, kinduv. I think I am going to stop the canary distraction, start ONE project and FINISH it before going to next, no matter how 'convenient' doing this little thing or that little thing appears at the moment.

I think I also need to start mis labeling all my tasks too, see if I can trick karma because it never seems to want to work for me.

If I say I want to roast coffee, it's windy as hell (not good for roasting)
If I say I want to wash the truck it rains, (not good for washing)
If I say I want to pull weeds we have a drought and you need dynamite to pull dandelions the ground is so hard.
and on and on

So with my new plan, when I want to wash the truck, Im going to say, I want to fill the pool with rain water. When I want to clean the coop w/o poop dust being blown in my face, I'll say, I want a nice breeze to air out the patio. If I want to pull weeds, I'll say I want a nice ground cover around my easter lillies... :

You know what, I want the chickens to be as pesty as can be when im changing their shavings, I WANT them under my hand digging out those bugs I just shoo'd out from the floor boards... yeah.. that's it. I GOT this one !!!

I feel your pain!

That's awfully young for a roo to kick it, any idea what caused his demise?
sorry to hear of that, hoping you don't have an issue going on in your flock

Aaron
We’ve noticed some off behavior for about 3 weeks. Not sure why he kicked the bucket so soon. Everyone else looks good though.

Good Morning, hey @Acre4Me did his comb get light colored lately?
They say a high pressure ridge is sitting in front of the state. Will not allow the rain to come in.
Like that is a bad thing
No. When he was dead the comb looked a bit darker/a bit purple. But, I did not notice this issue when he was alive (but I hadn’t been out a whole lot to watch them bc it’s cold and I’ve been busy. Was it a heart issue? Circulatory? Not sure.

Sadly necropsy is the only way to tell.

Good afternoon all. Hubs has to work tomorrow so we were busy running errands today. Got the shopping done, dogs went to the park, haircuts are done. I’m working a bit on the indoor plants today. I got a monstera the other day but think the pot needs more soil. Need to empty the water tray for the willows, just simple stuff. My polka dot plant is blooming and the Thanksgiving cactus might have an open bloom or two by then. Tomorrow I’ll water but mostly have housework to get done and the dogs need a bath. Have a great afternoon all!
