What did you do in the garden today?

But just watch TV seems like every commercial break has at least one drug commercial in it.!
Count the number of drug commercials there are during the newscast.

Who is paying for the news, hmm?
If I went into my doc and said 'hey, I saw this on a commercial for purple talking toe fungus - can we try it?' He's laugh me out of the office.
I'd laugh too... Purple talking toe fungus...

But seriously, good for your doc. We've both told our doc we don't want to throw pills at any physical issues. He's in agreement.

My dill is gone. Completely as if never there! I may need to grow inside till established! 🤔
Volunteer loofah growing!
Corn tasseling out! Super excited as we may get edible corn this year! If not - chicken food!
Did weed eating and I’m plumb tuckered out! At least it was just in 80s and cloudy 😅
I lost half of my seedlings as well! I will grow inside next year till fairly big.

Mosquitoes have been bad this year, even with no rain. The gnats have also been bad, and I don't recall them much at all in the past 18 years here.
Some body from Minnesota told me to spray plain vanilla to deter gnats it works! but I want cookies afterwards. Lol I just use $ tree vanilla straight.

@Minanora , kale trees sounds about right. :lau

I picked all the lower leaves from my red merlot leaf lettuce (freebie from Baker Creek) and some bok choi. Going to be eating big salads for a few days.

I watered the 30 zinnia starts that I planted in the garden this morning. If 15 survive long enough to bloom, it'll be more than enough. I still have 24 marigolds and 24 more red leaf lettuce to plant once I figure out where they'll fit in the garden. And a pair of raspberry plants too.
And a partridge in a pear tree. :clap :thumbsup

I live in Northern California. I'm wanting to try to grow some different veggies because I don't know if I like them or not but I would like to grow it just to try the taste. Another reason is that I am the family gardener. The food is not just for me it's for my mom and dad and also the kids and grandkids.
I grow Yukon potatoes cuz they're so expensive at store. I planted red onions for same reason. I love pickled beets so beets, lots of green beans cuz I pickle some. Cukes, and tried some delicate squash this year. Will try rutabaga next year. Carrots are cheap so may not grow next year. This year I planted sweet potatoes too since my kids grew them accidently!. Only a few tomatoes this year. I'm focusing on peppers this year cause I make sweet heat jalapenos that go over well.

Turnips: we like to grow the small white salad turnips in the spring and fall (they generally don’t do well with lots of heat). We eat them ra

Parsnips: spouse likes them, I can take or leave them- not a big fan.
I might try those this fall parsnips take a long time tho so not sure about those.

I didn't have any luck with my garlic and onions. I have planted melons but no luck with those. My pumpkins I got 9 the 1st year. Last year I didn't get any. My tomatoes, green beans, zucchini, crookneck and yellow squash, hot peppers all did really good. I sometimes think I am cursed when it comes to most of the vegetables I want to grow bc they very rarely produce anything. I'm hoping this fall instead of planting a fall garden I will make a HUGE garden area with raised hugelkulture beds and I also want to try some electro culture. I just have to get the yard rototilled to get most of the weeds out.
I had 2 little lots of bush cukes on patio. Same starts, one with electro culture grew 5 inches taller till I got more copper for other pot! I have copper in everything now.
