What did you do in the garden today?

It can be rough when you're already "damaged" from chemo or any other treatments or medications that wreaked havoc on your body, plus if you've ever had chronic bronchitis, asthma, any respiratory infections that were tough, even if years ago, it can just be hard on your system. If you have any condition you didn't even know about, heart, liver, kidneys, any issues or infections with any organs, it can be very difficult. Covid likes to find your weak spot, whatever that may be.
Like I mentioned before, I have only had Covid once and that was at the beginning of this year. The initial “onslaught” was pretty nasty but that lasted all of 2 to 4 hours. I recovered quickly however I have asthma and COPD and that was where I had some issues. I have a nebulizer at home for emergency use and that worked out fine for me. I did nebulizer treatments twice a day for about a week then did another few days of one treatment per day. That along with my regular treatments helped get my lungs back to a better place. But that didn’t seem all that horrid to me. I still kept up with my regular daily stuff, just moved a little slower. I feel bad for folks that don’t have good regular healthcare. I am enrolled in the VA healthcare system and except for my dental care they keep this old body running pretty good.

found 4 worms on the dill!!!
Those caterpillars are from swallowtail butterfly

Ditto, super sensitive system here. One thing I wish it had diminished though, and didn't, is my keen sense of smell. I smell stinky things that drive me bonkers, it's a curse I tell ya. Everything is as intense smelling as ever, even when I had covid. Must've been a Bloodhound in a past life. 👃 😆
The first few years after I got covid, everything smelled like some kind of petroleum product . Food, flowers, racoon, turkey poop.... Like a mix of deiseal and wd40. A couple weeks ago everything is now barbeque. Even an egg that exploded .

I picked two zucchini today, and they might be last from my plants. I don't see any more forming, and the plants look wilted by the end of the day, thanks to Squash Vine Borer.

I planted two hills of zucchini in a different place, and in the former garlic bed, I planted collards and chard. IF the critters don't mow it down, there's still time for me to get something.

Can someone please tell me, back in the long long ago far away time, before mankind started planting passive stands of tomatoes, what did the roaming herds of tomato hornworms eat? I mean, good lord. I skipped yesterday, and today I went out and heard chewing before I even made it to the garden fence. I opened the gate to find a tomato plant, that just two days ago was full and hearty, half gone and tomatoes on the plant half eaten. On it instead, was a massive worm, napkin tied around his neck, knife and fork in hand, with a name tag that said, 'HI MY NAME IS Nibbler'. SERIOUSLY?! Where do they come from so quickly and so large?!
I'm starting to wonder if one of my garden envious neighbors are breeding them and tossing them into the tomato patch at night.
@WthrLady , you should be spraying your tomatoes with BT for the hornworms.

I sprayed my brassicas and potatoes with BT. Cabbage loopers are munching holes in some of the leaves.

I usually do, or hunt them at night with a blacklight, but this year has been hit or miss with the hunting, and we've had too much rain for BT.
It's only been 3 and it's my fault for not checking EVERY DAY, but still funny how they go from 0 to SUV size overnight.

Good job!

I use a multi meter any time I turn off a breaker or open fuses. I don't care if it's off, I always, always, always, check for transient voltage. I've been hit with 277V from a faulty transformer with no ground. Never again!

I've also worked in live solar combiner boxes... Pretty nerve wracking using a screwdriver next to 600V DC; where the only thing protecting you is a piece of clear plastic shielding. 🥴 Can't turn off the sun unfortunately.
Don't trust breakers boxes! always check the receptacles with volt meter!
FYI They make a tool that's 2 part ; one plugs in receptacle, or screws in/ other part you run down panel box .Will tell you what breaker goes to what. Klein circuit breaker finder tool kit. WM has a knock off check Ace or Amazon too.
