Oh I love the goat bags, how fun! That pile of bags gives me anxiety though hahaha--I'm not like
@FBMcrazy8 and think that looks fun haha.
YAY! I love when that happens hahaha.
Haha, baking with your helpers no doubt!!

 No babies hatched yet (
@TropicalBabies), although they appear to be in position for internal pipping and all three are still moving, so today should give me SOME action of some kind!

My cochin bantams are very good layers too!!! When they aren't broody anyway
That is such a bummer that you guys and
@ChicksnMore don't get Christmas cards anymore! My mom was terrible about that kind of thing, so I am too, but my husband is really good about it and all of my friends and a lot of the family send us cards and it's so fun getting them! We get maybe 40 or 50 of them every year! The only holiday that matters more to me than Halloween is Christmas!! That is probably why my mom wasn't into the Christmas cards, she spent all her time decorating and making cookies and such! I redecorate my whole main living area and my bedroom at Christmas! We buy window decals, decorate the house, put up a real tree...and like
@ChicksnMore after everything is up I just sit in the dark with only the Christmas lights on and drink hot cocoa and listen to music. I just can't think of anything better than basking in the glow of my Christmas tree that smells like pine forests.

That's so fun that she uses the swing! None of my birds will use theirs!!
Oh your ducks look soooo happy!! The duck area is just so nice!

So how often do you have to empty their "pond" and refill it? Living in the very arid West...I'm thinking ducks are not in my near future--we already use a lot of water for our pool. But I also hate the idea of using too much water when water restrictions are constant here! Perhaps when I retire to the PNW and water is less limited...or I have a home with a real pond that filters and cleans itself. For now, I will just enjoy everyone else's ducks!
I am also of the opinion that technology and computers and such have their place but easily become a crutch when used too much for too many things. I work in a field that requires understanding the earth and ecological processes...it requires touching it, seeing it, smelling it to really figure it out and yet we spend sooooo much money in the government and academic world moving everything indoors on computers and using drones and satellites to replace people in the field...and we get dumber and dumber about the basics because the computer thinks for them....or at least they think it does. I know that is over generalizing but I am overworked and understaffed because of these viewpoints, and I fear the environment will suffer for it. We cannot understand the ecological systems from our desks. That is my diatribe for today!
