I was pulling the egg carton out of the fridge. It broke and I gave the yolk of a broken egg to the hens.

Becareful, never give raw eggs to chickens they will begin to eat the eggs they lay. Then you have birds you can not stop eating eggs. This is a no no in the chicken world.

Decided to smoke a ribeye tenderloin. After dressing it up, gave the fat and scraps to the girls... They LOVED it..

My chickens will clean up any eggs with soft shells. Snowball has laid a few shell-less eggs and they were cleaned up, no problem. I will look for telltale egg eater signs though.

My chickens got all the dinner left overs, they went bonkers!
Tomorrow they will be getting all the veggies from a vegetable tray my daughter brought home from work, mushrooms ,,cheeses, turkey, cucumbers, cauliflower, broccoli, tomatoes you name it! ! Enough for a few days worth of goodies.

Did you cook the fat and scraps first? This confuses me. I tossed some trimmings from some legs/thighs over the fence and the hens went nuts trying to stretch their necks out far enough to reach the stuff...tossed out for the ravens. Gave them some bread out behind the house but as soon as they finished they ran back out front to try and get to the scraps so I had to give them some greens so they would stay in their yard. They act like they are always starving.
