What did your chicks look it?

Hi everyone,
Recently 5 of my pullets have gone missing while free ranging. No sign of a predator or anything but that's not the reason for this thread.

I'm just wanting to plan ahead for when I replenish my flock. What they look like as chicks and as adults.

What did your chicks look like and what breed were they? And if you have photos would be amazing.

Just want an idea of what I would like next. And dont really want the same colours I currently have.

I think I want Light Sussex or Rhode island reds.

Since you are in Australia, do you need to keep heat-tolerant breeds? On BYC there is a section on breeds, or you could post in the breed forum what your flock objective is (eggs?, pets?, kid interaction and education?), and people will chime in. Since day old chicks feather out really quickly, they won’t stay those fluff colors for long. Good luck
