What do I do now

I didn't think the hens would go broody. I read that if the hen was hatched it was less likely to lay on eggs. I got the girls from a feed store as day olds and guess they had been hatched. So I had not read up on broodness. Then bam she went broody on me and I wanted to see if she could to a better job than I could. I tried to mark her eggs but I have to say she is kind of scary. I gave up the 1st time I tried. I will be reading way more on it and have her a broody pen next time

But I have to say it is pretty funny watching tow hans try to be Mom. At feeding time they put the baby in the middle and go back to back over the chick.

Separate the two hens, giving the brooded chick to one of them and try to give the incubated chick to the other one. Either that or take away the brooded chick so that your incubated chick has a friend. The hens will get over it. But, you may feel guilty.
